Itineraries
Guide updated · verify Queensland Parks the morning you go
These plans are for real days around Kingaroy, Dalby and the range — drive time, wet tracks, water and energy included — not a “do every walk” list. Pick the plan that matches your group, then open it for a timeline, packing notes and what to skip. Print from any plan page, or grab the free planner PDF / HTML anytime.
Every itinerary defers to Queensland Parks for track status and alerts. Longer walks only appear where the plan names them — and only when official status is open.
Which plan fits you?
- Half-day Scenic — first visit, mixed fitness, or limited time after the climb.
- Full-day Barker Creek — fit walkers, early start, about 10 km rainforest.
- Overnight Dandabah — book before you arrive; dawn walks without a hotel drive.
- Family easy — short loop, picnic, optional short Scenic Circuit sections.
- West-side lookouts — Mt Kiangarow and quieter west-side country on a second visit.
- Two-day range — Scenic Circuit day one, Barker or west side day two.
If two plans both sound good, pick the shorter one. You can always do more on the ground; you cannot invent daylight for the drive home.
